This is a rare Waltham military stopwatch, made for the US navy and dating from the 1950s. It is in very good, clean all-original condition and comes complete with its original cloth pouch and box, which are also both in good condition. A fine piece of naval military history that will provide an excellent investment.
You can feel confident buying from me - I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, fourteen days if overseas, in the same condition. I also provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation. I also welcome you to come and view the watch at our central London address, in the New Bond Street area. I offer my customers online prices - well below value - with offline availability and service.
The metal case is in excellent clean condition for its age and measures 51mm wide x 69mm high, including the stem/bow. The case back closes correctly and the inside is signed 'Keystone' (the casemakers), 'Base metal' and '804402' [the case reference number]. The outside back carries the military issue emblem.
The original, unrestored dial is in virtual mint clean condition, and is signed 'Waltham'. The original hands are a lovely design and also in condition, while the original lens has virtually no wear.
The crown-wound 9 jewel movement is signed 'Waltham USA', 'Nine jewels', '31667349' [the movement reference number] and '16 '43 - TC'. The movement is in excellent working order.
This fine stop watch comes complete with its original cloth pouch and original double box. The box is signed 'Pattern No. 3, stop watch, 1 - 5 second, Waltham Watch Company'.
A superb stopwatch from one of watch history's most famous names; full of charm and history. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy
