Swiss solid 18ct gold & enamel pocket watch - c1870s

This is a simply beautiful Swiss made antique pocket watch watch, dating from the 1870s Victorian era and in good condition for a watch dating back over 130 years. The watch comes from our watchmaker's private collection and features a gorgeous solid 18ct gold and enamel case, original solid 18ct gold Art and a quality Swiss key-wound movement by Mouline Geneve. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by our watchmaker and is in full working order. A winding key will be provided with the watch. The watch comes complete with a new, quality presentation case. We sense it will make someone a very special Christmas present.

The solid 18ct gold fancy case features beautiful hand enamel work and is in very good condition, apart from one chip in the enamel. It measures 36mm x 50mm long, including the solid 18ct gold stem/bow. Both stem and bow are in good condition and hallmarked for 18ct gold. Both back lids [cuvettes] close correctly, with the hinge in good order. The inner cuvette is also solid 18ct gold. The hallmarks on the inside back have rubbed off over time but the case is guaranteed to be solid 18ct gold.

The beautiful fancy dial is in very good condition for its age and is made from solid 18ct gold. The original steel Breguet 'moon' hands are in excellent unbent condition and the lens is very clear.

The original key-wound Swiss movement is in very good, bright condition for its age, and is signed 'Mouline Geneve'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by our watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age. A winding key will be provided.
