Enquire about this product

This is a very fine example of a Swiss full hunter antique pocket watch. Dating from the 19th Century (1800s), the watch features a large 50mm solid silver full hunter case with an unsigned cartouche, quality key wound 3/4 plate cylinder movement, a beautiful original porcelain dial with blued-steel hands and a very clear lens. The watch comes complete with a key for winding and setting. The condition is excellent; it is clear it has not been used much in its lifetime. In this condition it is worth more than our asking price so it will make a good financial investment as well as a possession with historical interest to enjoy.

The quality solid silver full hunter case is in excellent gleaming condition, with very minor wear. It measures 50.5mm wide x 14.5mm thick x 72.5mm high, including the original stem and bow. The case is signed 'Fine Silver' and the '3252' reference number. This number is repeated on the outer case and inner cuvette. The front, outlide back and inner cuvette all open and close on a hinge and do so correctly, with the hinge in good order. The case features a 'cartouche' (a shield for engraving a monogram) and this is blank, which means a higher value. You can have your own initials or monogram engraved onto the cartouche.

The beautiful original white porcelain dial is in superb clean condition and features sharp and clear Roman numerals. The original blued-steel hands are in excellent, unbent condition, and the lens is very clear.

The quality key wound 3/4 plate Swiss-made cylinder movement is in excellent condition and in full working order. A winding key will be provided for winding the watch and setting the hands.

A superb antique hunter pocket watch; full of charm and history. It will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
