IWC Schaffhausen silver gents’ watch - c1925

This is a stunning example of a gents' IWC Peerless, dating from 1925 and in superb condition - it really is a gorgeous watch. IWC collectors rate the IWC Peerless movements among the best ever made by IWC. The watch is in superb condition and features a gleaming solid silver case (top quality), original crown, IWC Peerless hand-wound movement, and a crisp uncracked enamel dial. The watch comes complete with a new quality Hirsch strap and a new quality watch box. The watch is small by todays larger standards so please check the case measurements below.

The solid silver hinged case is in superb gleaming condition, with no significant wear, and measures 29.5mm wide, excluding the original crown x 35mm long, including the silver fixed bar lugs. The lugs are in superb unbent condition. The case back opens on a heavy, top quality hinge, with the hinge in perfect order, and the inside is signed 'CN' (the casemakers used by IWC), the '833889' case reference number, and carries Glasgow import hallmarks for solid silver, dating to 1925. The underneath of the top section of the case is signed '889'.

The beautiful enamel dial is uncracked and in very clean, bright condition and is signed 'International Watch Co' and 'Schaffhausen'. The original blued steel Breguet moon hands are in excellent unbent condition and the lens is very clear.

The IWC Peerless hand-wound movement is excellent quality, as you would expect and in crisp, clean condition. It features gold jewel chatons and is signed 'Peerless', 'Swiss Made', 'S&Co' (for Stauffer, the IWC exporters) and the '763769' movement reference number. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age.

This beautiful watch comes complete with a new quality Hirsch camel grain strap, which suits it perfectly. The watch also comes complete with a new quality watch box.
