This is a very rare Omega gents watch, dating from 1935, during the Art Deco period and in as excellent all-original, unrestored condition. The watch features a solid 18ct gold curved case with original high domed lens, clean original silvered dial, original unsigned winding crown and a clean, freshly serviced hand-wound Omega 15 jewel movement. It comes complete with a new Hirsch leather strap and a new, quality non-Omega presentation case. The watch makes a very impressive statement on the wrist, something a bit different with a history, and will only rise in value. The watch is small by today's larger standard so please check the case measurements below.
The solid 18ct yellow gold curved case is in excellent, bright condition, with very minor wear, and measures 20mm wide, excluding the original correctly unsigned winding crown x 10mm thick x 36mm long, including the solid gold lugs. The case back closes correctly and the inside case is signed 'Omega', 'Fab Suisse Swiss Made', the '9642941' reference number and the correct Swiss hallmarks for 18ct gold. The case does not carry a personal inscription.
The original, unrestored silvered dial is in very clean condition and is signed 'Omega' and 'Swiss Made'. The original blued-steel hands are are in very good unbent condition, and the original high domed lens is very clear.
The hand-wound Omega 15 jewel movement is in excellent, clean condition and is signed 'Omega', '15 Jewels', 'Swiss' and the '8901515' movement reference number, which dates the watch to 1935. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order, with no issues.
We have put this lovely watch on a new Hirsch leather strap, which suits it perfectly. The watch comes complete with a new non-Omega watch case.
A rare, highly collectable vintage watch; full of meaning and history. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
