Rolex Princess Art Deco 18ct gold watch - c1930s

This is a beautiful Rolex Princess chronometer ladies watch, dating from the 1930s Art Deco period and about as rare as it gets - you are unlikely to see the same Princess model again. The watch is in very good gleaming original condition, with the kind of minor wear you would expect for a watch dating back nearly 80 years. The watch features a solid 18ct gold case, solid 18ct gold bracelet, an original ‘bow tie’ dial and a high quality hand-wound Rolex 17 jewel chronometer grade movement. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order. This lovely watch comes complete with a new, quality presentation case. It goes without saying that the watch will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a special present for the right lady.

The solid 18ct gold Art Deco case is in excellent gleaming condition, with very minor wear, and measures 11mm wide, excluding the original winding crown x 44mm long, including the lugs. The back of the case opens on a hinge and the inside is signed ‘Chronometre Rolex 25 Records Universels’, ‘Geneve Suisse’ and carries Swiss hallmarks for 18ct gold. The outside back of the case carries the ‘1247 1544c’ case reference numbers.

The original unrestored Art Deco dial is in good condition for an original dial of this age and is signed ‘Rolex’. The original blued steel hands are in good unbent condition, and the lens is very clear.

The original hand-wound 17 jewel Rolex movement is excellent quality and in good condition. It is signed 'Rolex Princess', ‘Timed Six Positions’, '17 Rubies' and ‘Swiss Made’. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age.
