This is a simply beautiful Rolex ladies watch, dating from the 1950s and in simply superb all-original condition for its age, with no significant wear. It is clear that it has rarely been worn in its lifetime and is brighter in reality than photographed. The watch features a solid platinum hinged case, set with 28 glittery diamonds, a very clean original dial and a high-grade Rolex 17 jewel hand-wound movement. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order. The watch comes on its original solid 9ct white gold strap and comes complete with its original Rolex watch box. The watch will make a very strong financial investment as well as a beautiful gift.
You can feel confident buying from me - I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, fourteen days if overseas, in the same condition. I also provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation. I also welcome you to come and view the watch at our central London address, in the New Bond Street area. I offer my customers online prices - well below value - with offline availability and service.
The solid platinum hinged case is in excellent condition and is set with 28 glittery genuine diamonds - four baguette diamonds on each shoulder and twenty diamonds around the bezel. They are of course genuine, high quality diamonds. It measures 15mm, excluding the original signed winding crown (signed with the famous Rolex coronet emblem) x 25.3mm long, including the lugs. The back closes tightly on a hinge and the case is unsigned, which was often the case with platinum cases. However, I guarantee that the parts of the watch are all original to each other.
The original unrestored cream dial is in clean condition for a watch of this age and features white gold hour batons. The dial is signed 'Rolex' and 'Swiss made'. The original white gold hands are in excellent unbent condition, and the original lens is very clear.
The original hand-wound 17 jewel Rolex movement is in very clean condition, and is signed 'Rolex SA', 'Seventeen 17 Jewels', 'Unadjusted', 'Montres', '1401', 'ROW' and 'Swiss'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order.
This lovely watch is on its original solid 9ct white gold strap, which is hallmarked on the clasp. The strap is in excellent condition and the entire watch/strap measures 159mm from tip to tip, with adjustments down to 155mm, 152mm and 148mm. The watch comes complete with its original Rolex watch box, which shows a bit of wear but adds to the value of the watch.
A superb collection-standard vintage watch from one of history's most famous names; full of charm and elegance. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
