Hermes ladies’ vintage cocktail watch - c1940s

This is a beautiful Hermes ladies' watch, dating from the late 1940s and in superb condition for a watch of this age. It is clear that it has rarely been worn in its lifetime. The watch was made for Hermes by Universal Geneve, a highly-respected historic Swiss watchmaker. It features a solid steel case, a mint clean dial and a quality Universal 15 jewel movement. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order. The watch comes on a new, high quality Hirsch cocktail strap and comes complete with a new, quality presentation case.

The solid steel case is in excellent, bright condition and measures 17.5mm, excluding the winding crown x 36mm long, including the lugs. The back closes tightly and the inside back is signed 'Universal Geneve', 'Enversteel' and 'Swiss'. The outside back carries the '25144 1196861' case reference numbers.

The dial is in mint clean condition and is signed 'Hermes'. The original hands are in excellent unbent condition, and the lens is very clear.

The original hand-wound 15 jewel Universal Geneve movement [Cal 220] is in very good, bright condition for its age, and is signed 'Universal Geneve', '220' and 'Swiss'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age.

This lovely watch is on a new high quality Hirsch cocktail strap, which suits it perfectly, and comes complete with a new, quality presentation case, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
