This is a rare Ebel Art Deco ladies watch, dating from the 1930s and in excellent condition for a watch of this age, with minor wear. The watch also features a solid 18ct white gold case, set with 38 glittering, genuine diamonds, lovely stepped lugs, original winding crown, clean unmarked dial, and a clean, freshly serviced hand-wound Swiss made movement. It comes complete with a beautifully made solid 9ct white gold bracelet and a quality non-Ebel presentation case. The watch makes a very impressive statement on the wrist, something a bit different with a history, and will only rise in value.
You can feel confident buying from me - my reputation is there for all to see. My vintage watch business is my hobby and passion; I co-own venture capital firm Baringxavier (www.baringxavier.com), among other business interests, so I have no interest or need to treat you or your money unprofessionally in any way. And I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy with your purchase. I also provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation (I am approved to provide insurance valuations for wrist and pocket watches). I also welcome you to come and view the watch at my central London address, in New Bond Street - by appointment only. I offer my customers online prices - below value - with offline availability and service.
The solid 18ct white gold hinged case is in very good bright condition, with minor wear. It is set with 38 genuine diamonds and has beautifully engraved sides. The case measures 14mm wide, excluding the original unsigned winding crown (crowns were not signed in this early era) x 7mm thick x 44.5mm long, including the diamond stepped lugs. The outside of the case carries the '1463' reference number and the inside case is fully hallmarked for 18ct gold. The case does not carry a personal inscription.
The professionally restored dial is in very clean condition - no marks or fading - and is signed 'Ebel'. The original blued steel Breguet 'moon' hands are in excellent condition and the lens is very clear.
The hand-wound Swiss movement is in very good, clean condition and is signed 'Swiss Made'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order, with no issues.
This lovely watch is on a solid 9ct white gold bracelet, which is fully hallmarked and really beautifully made. The bracelet will currently fit either a 7'" or 7.5" wrist. However, a good jeweller can shorten it if necessary. The watch comes complete with a new non-Ebel watch case.
A rare, highly collectable Art Deco watch by a top Swiss watchmaker; full of meaning and history. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
