Please note that the watch has not photographed well. In reality it is bright, crisp and gleaming, with a perfect white porcelain dial with crisp unfaded numerals. There is some wear on the old lens but we have replaced the lens for a new one since photographing.
This is a very beautiful Rolex ladies watch, dating from 1916 and in stunning condition - as near to mint as you will find for a watch dating back nearly a 100 years. It features a solid 9ct gold hinged case, original crown, excellent clean white porcelain dial and a very clean Rolex hand-wound 15 jewel movement. The watch comes on its original solid 9ct gold expandable bracelet (max 7" wrist size), which is also in superb gleaming condition, and comes in a new, quality non-Rolex presentation case. The watch will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a lovely possession to show off and enjoy.
The solid 9ct gold hinged case is in superb gleaming condition, with no significant wear and measures 26.5mm wide, excluding the original crown x 10.5mm thick x 30mm long, including the lugs. The back of the case opens correctly on a hinge, which is in very good order, and the inside back of the case is signed 'Rolex', 'W&D;' (for Willsdorf and Davies, the founders of Rolex in 1906), the '727783' reference number, with a full set of English hallmarks (London), dating to 1916, which shows that the watch was made by Rolex for the English market. The outside back of the case has a beautifully cut hand engraving.
The beautiful original porcelain dial is in as near to mint condition for a porcelain dial of this age, with no chips or cracks. It features a red 12 and is signed 'Rolex'. Please note that it has not photographed well - in reality the numbers are crisp, with no fading. The original blued-steel hands are in very good, unbent condition, and the watch is fitted with a new lens.
The Rolex hand-wound movement is in excellent clean condition for its age - brighter and cleaner than photographed - and is signed 'Rolex' and '15 Jewels'. The movement has just been serviced and is in good working order for a watch of this age, with no issues.
This beautiful watch on its original solid 9ct gold expandable bracelet, which is in excellent gleaming condition. The bracelet is hallmarked and stretches up to a maximim 7" wrist size. The watch comes complete with a new, quality non-Rolex watch box.
A superb, valuable watch from one of history's most famous names; will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a beautiful possession to enjoy.
