IWC Schaffhausen 18ct gold ladies vintage watch - c1955

This is a simply beautiful ladies' watch by IWC Schaffhausen, who as one of history's greatest watchmakers need no introduction. The watch dates from late 1955 and is in as near to mint all-original condition as you will find for a watch of this age, with no significant wear. It features a very clean dial, a solid 18ct gold case, high-grade IWC 17 jewel hand-wound movement [Cal 431] and original unsigned crown. The watch comes complete with a new, quality Hirsch strap and a new quality watch box.

The solid 18ct gold case is in excellent, clean condition and measures 16.5mm wide, excluding the original unsigned crown x 22.5mm long including the lugs. The back closes tightly and the inside is signed 'International Watch Company', 'IWC', 'Probus Scafusia', the '1334273' reference number and carries Swiss hallmarks for solid 18ct gold.

The original, unrestored dial is in mint clean condition with applied hour batons. The dial is signed 'International Watch Co' and 'Swiss'. The original hands are in excellent unbent condition and the lens is very clear.

The hand-wound 17 jewel movement [Cal 431] is in very good working order and features Geneva striping. It is signed 'International Watch Co', 'Swiss' and 'C431'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in excellent working order.

This beautiful watch comes complete with a new, quality Hirsch leather strap. The watch will be posted in a new quality watch box, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
