This is a rare, high quality Rolex gents Art Deco vintage watch Stephen Baring is releasing from his private collection. Dating from 1960, this lovely watch features a gleaming solid 9ct gold case, original unsigned crown, a clean original Rolex cream dial and a clean hand-wound-Rolex 17 jewel movement. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker. The watch comes complete with a new Hirsch alligator strap and a new, quality presentation case. The watch will provide an excellent financial investment as it will only rise further in value.
The solid 9ct gold case is in excellent, bright gleaming condition and measures 31mm wide, excluding the original unsigned winding crown x 8mm thick x 38mm long, including the lugs. The inside back is signed 'Dennison' (the famous English case makers who made English market cases for most of the leading Swiss watchmakers), 'Made In England For ROLEX', 'ALD', the '12868 22703' case reference numbers and carries English (Birmingham) hallmarks for 9ct gold, dating to 1960. The outside back of the case is blank.
The original, unrestored cream dial is in very good condition for an original dial of this age, and features applied hour markers and Rolex coronet emblem. It is signed 'Rolex Precision' and 'Swiss'. The original hands are in very good, unbent condition, with minor wear, and the lens is very clear.
The hand-wound Rolex 17 jewel movement is in very good condition and is high quality, as you would expect. It is signed 'Montres Rolex S.A.', 'Seventeen 17 Jewels' and 'Geneva Swiss'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in excellent working order.
We have put this beautiful watch on a new Hirsch alligator strap and the watch comes complete with a new, quality non-Rolex watch box.
An excellent watch from one of history's most famous names; full of charm and elegance. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
