This is an excellent example of the Rolex Oyster Viceroy, a rare gents watch that I'm releasing from my private collection. Dating from the 1930s Art Deco era, the watch is in excellent gleaming condition, with very little wear. The watch is of course authentic and features a rare yellow gold bezel, steel screwback case [large for the era], a very clean dial and a high-grade Rolex 15 jewel Extra Prima movement. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order. The watch comes on a new, quality Hirsch strap and comes complete with a new, quality presentation case.
You can feel confident buying from me - I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, fourteen days if overseas, in the same condition. I also provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation. I also welcome you to come and view the watch at our central London address, in the New Bond Street area. I offer my customers online prices - well below value - with offline availability and service.
The solid steel screwback Oyster case is in excellent bright condition for its age and features a yellow gold bezel. It measures 29mm, excluding the original screwdown signed Oyster winding crown x 38mm long, which is quite large for a watch from this era. The watch has fixed bar lugs. The back screws tightly and correctly closed and the inside back is signed 'Oyster Watch Co', 'Rolésium registered inaltérable', 'Geneve Swiss', 'Great Britain Patents, Swiss patents, French patents, USA patents, German patents'. The outside back carries the '1573' case reference number.
The dial is very clean, with no marks and features lovely Arabic numbers. It is signed 'Rolex Oyster Viceroy' and 'Swiss Made'. The original blued steel hands are in very good unbent condition, with very minor wear, and the lens is very clear.
The original high grade hand-wound 15 jewel Rolex Extra Prima movement is signed 'Rolex', 'Extra Prima', '15 Rubies' and 'Fab Suisse Swiss Made'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age.
I have put this lovely watch on a new quality Hirsch strap and it comes complete with a new, quality presentation case, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
A superb collection-standard vintage watch from one of history's most famous names; full of charm and elegance. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
