This is a beautiful example of a gents Rolex Oyster Speedking [Model 6420/Ref 235045], dating from 1957 and in very good original condition - nothing changed or restored, except for a new Rolex crown - and I believe an unpolished case. The watch is much nicer in reality than photographed and very rare in solid gold. It features a solid 9ct gold Oyster case, new signed crown, Rolex hand-wound 17 jewel movement, and original unrestored cream dial. The watch comes complete with its original Rolex gold-plated buckle and a new non-Rolex watch box. A highly collectable vintage Rolex that will only rise further in value.
You can feel confident buying from me - I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, fourteen days if overseas, in the same condition. I also provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation. I also welcome you to come and view the watch at our central London address, in the New Bond Street area. I offer my customers online prices - well below value - with offline availability and service.
The solid 9ct gold Oyster case is in very good condition, with minor wear - it can be polished to taste. It measures 30mm wide, excluding the screw-down crown [signed with the famous Rolex crown emblem] x 35.8mm long, including the lugs. The case back screws correctly closed and the inside is correctly signed 'Montres Rolex SA', 'Geneva Switzerland', 'RWC Ltd', 'Patented', '6420' [the model number], '235045' (the reference number) and carries Glasgow import hallmarks for solid 9ct gold. It is clearly signed '235045' and '6420' between the lugs.
The beautiful original, unrestored cream dial is in good condition, with minor and even wear. It features applied alternate dart hour markers and Arabic numbers and is signed 'Rolex Oyster Speedking', 'Precision' and 'Swiss'. The original hands, including centre seconds hand, are in excellent unbent condition, and the lens is very clear.
The Rolex hand-wound 17 jewel movement is excellent quality, as you would expect and in crisp, clean condition. It is signed 'Montres Rolex SA', 'Geneva Swiss', 'Seventeen 17 jewels' and 'N62492'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order.
This lovely watch comes complete with its original gold-plated Rolex buckle and a used non-Rolex crocodile strap. The watch also comes complete with a new non-Rolex watch box, for safekeeping.
A simply superb watch from one of history's most famous names - collection standard. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
