Rolex Oyster Perpetual 14ct Gold Watch - c1968

This is the best Rolex Oyster Perpetual in solid 14ct gold that we have seen - the condition really needs to be seen to be believed. The dial, hour batons, hands and lens are literally in mint crisp condition, as though made yesterday, and original, with no restoration. The case is clean, gleaming and crisp with extremely minor wear. The watch was difficult to photograph and the photos dont even begin to show you how good this watch is, so come and view it if at all possible. Dating from 1968 the watch features a gleaming solid 14ct gold case, an automatic 26 jewel movement [Cal 1570] and a beautiful original black dial. As mentioned, the watch is in all-original condition and comes complete with a quality leather strap and a genuine solid 14ct gold Rolex buckle.

The solid 14ct gold case is in excellent, crisp gleaming condition, with very minor wear and measures 34mm wide, excluding the original screw-down crown [signed with the famous Rolex crown emblem] x 40mm long, including the lugs. The case back screws correctly closed and the inside is correctly signed 'Montres Rolex SA', 'Geneva Switzerland', 'Patented', '1005' [the reference number] with the appropriate Swiss hallmarks for solid 14ct gold. The case carries 18ct gold hallmarks on all sections.

The lovely original, unrestored black dial is in mint clean condition, and is signed 'Rolex Oyster Perpetual', 'Superlative chronometer officially certified' and 'Swiss'. The original hands are also in mint condition, as is the original lens.

The Rolex automatic 26 jewel movement [Cal 1570] is excellent quality, as you would expect and is in clean crisp condition. It is signed 'Montres Rolex SA', 'Geneve', 'Swiss', 'Adjusted five [5] positions and temperature', 'Twenty six [26] Jewels', '1570' and the movement reference number 'D070842'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in perfect working order.

This beautiful watch is on a high quality leather strap with a genuine Rolex solid 14ct gold buckle attached. The watch comes complete with a new, quality non-Rolex watch box.
