This is a beautiful Rolex gents vintage watch, dating from 1950, and in very good condition. All parts of the watch are original to each other and the watch features a solid 9ct gold case, excellent, crisp hand wound Rolex movement and a beautiful clean original, unrestored dial. The watch was made as a gents watch but is small by today's standards, so will suit either a gent who prefers a smaller watch or a lady who prefers a larger one - please check the case measurements below. The English hallmarks show that the watch was made for the English market, with a Dennison made case. The watch comes complete with a quality Hirsch leather strap and a new, quality presentation case.
You can feel confident buying from me - I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, fourteen days if overseas, in the same condition. I also provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation. I also welcome you to come and view the watch at our central London address, in the New Bond Street area. I offer my customers online prices - well below value - with offline availability and service.
The solid 9ct case is in excellent, gleaming condition for its age. It measures 30mm wide, excluding the winding crown x 37mm long, including the lugs. The case back closes correctly and the inside is signed 'Dennison' [the famous English casemakers who made cases for most of the top Swiss watch companies], 'Made in England', 'ALD', the '12325 319360' case reference numbers and the appropriate Birmingham hallmarks for solid 9ct gold, dating to 1950.
The beautiful original, unrestored dial is in excellent clean condition and is signed 'Rolex' and 'Swiss made'. The original hands are in unbent condition, with minor wear and the lens is very clear.
The hand wound Rolex 15 jewel movement is in lovely condition, brighter and sharper than photographed. It is excellent quality, as you would expect, and is signed 'Rolex', '15 Rubis' and 'Swiss made'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order.
I have put the watch on a quality Hirsch leather strap, which shows minor wear. The watch comes complete with a new, high quality watch case.
A lovely watch from one of history's most famous names; full of charm and elegance. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
