This is a stunning example of a gents Rolex Datejust Oyster Perpetual, in solid 18ct gold [Model 1601]. Dating from around 1970, the watch is in very good all original condition. I have left the case unpolished as some people prefer that. If you prefer gleaming perfection please let me know and I will have the case expertly polished by a master jeweller. This will take around one week and will only be done once the watch has been paid for.

The watch features a solid 18ct gold case, 18ct gold fluted bezel, original signed crown, date function, Rolex self-winding 26 jewel movement [Cal 1570], a beautiful mint original and unrestored golden dial and original 18ct gold Rolex buckle. The watch comes complete with a non-original Hirsch leather strap (tell us if you want black or dark brown) and a quality presentation box.

The solid 18ct gold case is in good original condition and can be polished to taste. The fluted bezel is solid 18ct gold too. The case measures 36mm wide, excluding the original screw-down crown [signed with the famous Rolex crown emblem] x 44mm long, including the lugs. The case back screws correctly closed and the inside is correctly signed 'Montres Rolex SA', 'Geneva Switzerland', 'Patented', '1601' [the reference number] and carries the appropriate hallmarks for Swiss solid 18ct gold.

The lovely original, unrestored silvered dial is in near mint clean condition, and is signed 'Rolex', 'Oyster Perpetual Datejust', 'Superlative ChronometerOfficially Certified' and 'Swiss'. The original hands, including smooth-sweeping centre seconds hand, are also in mint condition, and the original Rolex cyclops lens is very clear

The Rolex self-winding 26 jewel movement [Cal 1570] is excellent quality, as you would expect and in crisp, clean condition. It is signed 'Montres Rolex SA', 'Geneva', 'Twenty six 26 jewels', 'Adj 5 positions temperature', 'DO66757' and '1570'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in excellent working order. The date function works correctly.

This lovely watch comes complete with its original 18ct gold Rolex buckle and a new Hirsch leather strap. The watch comes complete in a new, non-Rolex presentation box.
