This is a very rare Rolex gents' watch, dating from 1959 and in excellent condition. It features a very rare solid 9ct gold case, very clean dial and a very clean, freshly serviced hand-wound Rolex 15 jewel movement. It comes complete with a new Hirsch leathere strap and a new, quality non-Rolex watch box. The watch is small by todays larger standard so please check the case measurements below. The Rolex name, the great condition and the rarity make this watch an excellent financial investment.
The solid 9ct gold case is in very good condition, with very minor wear that can be polished out if you wish. It measures 28mm wide, excluding the replacement winding crown x 10mm thick x 37mm long, including the lugs. The case back closes correctly and the outside is signed 'Rolex' within a Coronet and carries the numbers '02314' and '1950.'. The inside case is signed 'Rolex', 'Dennison Made In England' (Dennison were the famous English casemakers who made English market cases for many of the top Swiss watchmakers), 'ALD', '15126', '904200' and carries English (Birmingham) hallmarks for 9ct gold, dating to 1959. The outside case is free from any personal inscription.
The dial is in clean condition with very minor wear and is signed 'Rolex'. The original hands are in good, unbent condition, and the lens is clear.
The hand-wound Rolex 15 jewel movement is in very good, clean condition and is signed 'Rolex', '15 Rubies' and 'Swiss Made Fab Suisse'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order, with no issues.
We have put this lovely watch on a new Hirsch leather strap, which suits it perfectly. The watch comes complete with a new watch box.
A rare, highly collectible vintage watch from one of historys most famous names; will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
