This is a beautiful, very rare Rolex officers watch, dating from 1925 and in very good all original condition for a watch of this age. The watch features a rare case action, where the bezel unscrews and the dial/movement swing out from the case on a hinge, with a movement cap snapped over the movement. The photos will show you this procedure. The watch features a solid 18ct gold case, original winding crown, a freshly serviced hand wound Rolex Ultra Prima 15 jewel movement (the Ultra Prima was Rolex highest grade movement of the era) and an original, unrestored enamel dial. The watch comes complete with a new leather strap and a new watch box. The watch is highly collectable so will provide an excellent financial investment.
You can feel confident buying from me - I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy with your purchase. I also provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation. I also welcome you to come and view the watch at our central London address, in the New Bond Street area. I offer my customers online prices - well below value - with offline availability and service.
The solid 18ct gold case is in very good, bright condition. As mentioned in the 'Overview' paragraph it features an unusual action, which you can see from the photos. It measures 30mm wide, excluding the original correctly unsigned winding crown x 10mm thick x 35mm long, including the solid 18ct gold fixed bar lugs. The inside is signed 'Rolex', '7 worlds records', 'Gold medal', 'Geneve Suisse', 'RWC Ltd', the '92039' reference numbers and carries Swiss hallmarks for 18ct gold, with Glasgow import hallmarks dating to 1925.
The original, unrestored enamel dial is in good, bright condition for a dial of this age, with a small chip on the edge next to the 9 position and a tight hairline crack. Neither are obvious on the wrist. It features Roman numerals and is signed 'Rolex' and 'Swiss made'. The original blued steel hands are in very good, unbent condition, and the lens is very clear.
The hand-wound high grade Rolex Ultra Prima 15 jewel movement is excellent quality, as you would expect, and is signed 'Rolex Ultra Prima', '15 Jewels', 'Timed 6 positions', 'For all climates' and 'Swiss made'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age.
This lovely watch is on a new leather strap and comes complete with a new watch box.
A rare, highly collectable watch from one of history's most famous names; full of charm and elegance. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
