This is a very fine, very heavy Omega Seamaster 18ct gold watch from my private collection, dating from 1959 and in near-mint all-original condition - it has never been polished, retaining the original factory polishing. It has photographed dark and is more clean, bright and impressive in reality. Any odd marks, gloominess or discolouration in the photos are not part of the watch itself. The watch features a very heavy, and I mean heavy, solid 18ct gold three-piece case, stunning original dial, original signed crown and a very clean high-grade 24 jewel automatic movement [Cal 552]. The watch comes complete with a new Hirsch leather strap, a new genuine Omega gold plated buckle and a new quality watch box. The watch was made for the English market and has an Omega signed Dennison-made case. If you can view the watch in person do so; it's well worth it. Please don't confuse this with the more numerous cheaper, lighter Omega gold watches.
The very heavy solid 18ct gold three-piece case is in near-mint, gleaming condition for its age, and has never been polished. You will see that it retains its original factory polish. It measures 34mm wide, excluding the stunning original signed crown x 42.5mm long including the solid gold lugs. The back of the case closes perfectly and the inside is signed 'Omega Watch Co', 'ALD' [for Denisson, the famous English casemakers], 'Made in England', 'Pat. applied for', 'Fit washer in back', the '890 69344' case reference numbers, and carries Birmingham hallmarks for solid 18ct gold, dating to 1959.
The original, unrestored dial is beautiful and features applied hour markers and Omega emblem. It is in mint clean condition - with no significant wear. The dial is signed 'Omega', 'Seamaster', 'Automatic' and 'Swiss made'. The original hands, including centre-seconds hand, are in excellent unbent condition and the original lens is very clear.
The automatic 24 jewel movement [Cal 552] is very high quality and is in excellent condition - far brighter than in the dark photo. It is signed 'Omega Watch Co', 'Swiss', '552', 'Twenty four 24 Jewels' and the movement reference number '17364725'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order.
This beautiful watch comes complete with a new quality Hirsch leather strap, attached to which is a new, genuine Omega gold plated buckle. It will be posted in a new quality watch box, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
A special vintage watch from one of history's most famous names; serious collection standard. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
