Description

This is a very fine, very heavy Omega Seamaster 18ct gold watch from my private collection, dating from 1958 and in excellent all-original condition. It hasn't photographed well and is far more clean and impressive than photographed. Any odd marks, gloominess or discolouration in the photos are not part of the watch itself. The watch features a very heavy, and I mean heavy, solid 18ct gold three-piece case, stunning original dial, original signed crown and a very clean high-grade 20 jewel automatic movement [Cal 501]. The watch comes complete with a new genuine ostrich Hirsch strap, a new genuine Omega goldplated buckle and a new quality watch box. The watch was made for the English market and has an Omega signed Dennison-made case. If you can view the watch in person do so; it's well worth it. Please don't confuse with this the more numerous cheaper, lighter Omega gold watches.

My asking price is below value for a watch that will only rise further in value. Such is the high quality of the watch, I will include a six month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the running order. I also include a professional insurance valuation, in excess of my asking price. Also, I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, fourteen days if overseas, in the same condition. Please feel free to arrange to view the watch in central London.

The very heavy solid 18ct gold three-piece case is in very good, gleaming condition for its age, with no over-polishing. It can be polished further to taste. The outside back of the case is in lovely condition with no personal inscription. It measures 33mm wide, excluding the stunning original signed crown x 7.5mm thick x 40mm long including the solid gold lugs. The back of the case closes tightly and the inside is signed 'Omega Watch Co', 'Dennison' [the famous English casemakers], 'ALD', 'Made in England', 'Pat. applied for', 'Fit washer in back', the '963275' case reference number, and carries English hallmarks for solid 18ct gold, dating to 1958.

The original, unrestored dial is beautiful and features a mixture of dart hour markers and Arabic numbers. It is in excellent clean condition - with no significant wear. The numbers, hour markers and Omega emblem are all applied and gold. The dial is signed 'Omega', 'Seamaster', 'Automatic' and 'Swiss made'. The original hands, including centre-seconds hand, are in excellent unbent condition and the original lens is very clear.

The hand-wound 17 jewel movement [Cal 267] is very high quality and features a centre jewel - always a sign of quality. It is in very good working order and is signed 'Omega Watch Co', 'Swiss', '267', 'Twenty 20 Jewels', '501', and the movement reference number '16559765'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order.

This beautiful watch comes complete with a new high quality Hirsch genuine ostrich strap, attached to which is a new, genuine Omega gold plated buckle. It will be posted in a new quality watch box, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.

A special vintage watch from one of history's most famous names; serious collection standard. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
