Please note that the case has been professionally polished since being photographed, so any marks or scratches visible in the photos are no longer present on the actual watch, which is now gleaming.
This is a beautiful Omega Seamaster automatic watch, dating from 1954 and in very good original condition. The watch features a lovely original copper dial, gleaming steel case with original signed crown, Omega 17 jewel automatic movement [Cal 354] and comes complete with a new quality leather strap. The value of Omega vintage watches is on the rise so the watch will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a fine possession to show off and enjoy.
We provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation (we are approved to provide insurance valuations for wrist and pocket watches). We also welcome you to come and view the watch at our central London address, in New Bond Street - by appointment only. We offer our customers online prices - below value - with offline availability and service.
The heavy steel case is top quality and is in excellent gleaming condition, having just been professionally polished (after being photographed so looks much better in reality). It measures 34.5mm wide, excluding the original signed crown x 10.5mm thick x 42mm long including the lugs, with an 18mm lug width. The back closes correctly and tightly and the inside is signed ‘Omega Watch Co’, ‘Fab Suisse Swiss Made’, ‘Patent + Applied’, Fit Washer in Back’ (in four languages), ‘Acier Inoxydable’ and the ‘2767-10 SC’ model reference. The outside back of the case carries the engraving ‘Seamaster’ and ‘Waterproof’ around the outside edges at 12 and 6 respectively.
The original, unrestored copper dial is in good condition - just lovely - with minor even patina and features applied hour batons and Omega insignia. It is signed ‘Omega’, ‘Automatic’, ‘Seamaster’ and ‘Swiss made’. The original hands, including centre-seconds hand, are in good unbent condition and the lens is very clear.
The automatic 17 jewel movement [Cal 354] is in very good condition (brighter than photographed) and is signed ‘Omega Watch Co’, ‘Swiss’, ‘Seventeen 17 Jewels’, ‘354’ and the ‘14927886’ movement reference number. The movement has just been oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order.
This beautiful watch is on a new quality leather strap, which suits it perfectly. The watch comes complete with a new non-Omega quality watch box for safekeeping.
