This is one of the most beautiful vintage Omega watches I have ever offered for sale - it really is stunning. Dating from the late 1960s, the watch is in as near to mint condition as you will find for a watch of this age and all parts of the watch are original. The watch features a heavy, top quality solid 18ct yellow gold front loading case, original signed winding crown, gorgeous clean textured golden dial with date function, original Omega signed lens and an automatic Omega movement. It comes complete with a new Hirsch leather strap, an Omega gold-plated buckle and a new, quality non-Omega presentation case. You can buy standard gold Omega watches for less but this watch is exceptional; I guarantee you won't want to take it off.

I am selling the watch on behalf of Ralph Warburton, a customer of mine. Regarding the watch, he says: 'Back in the 1960's, I was a young aspiring executive with a very large national private company. I climbed the corporate ladder and came to a point where I was required to fly to the Far East to open up lines of supply. My first trips were taken aboard the Boeing 707. This flight was very long as the craft had to stop over in at least 4 countries - at times 5. Then came PANAM 001 - the first 747. Much better but still acting like a long haul bus, dropping and collecting passengers as we flew east.

So - there I was, in a new world for me - very excited. Sights and sounds and smells intensifying this wonder I felt. I Worked hard, covering Hong Kong, Thailand, Macau and Formosa as it was then. I continued in my work in this way and in the late 1960's treated myself to this beautiful Omega De Ville watch. This was my first proper watch, bought on Nathan Road, Hong Kong. I have worn the watch only on special occasions since. I hope the second owner will enjoy the watch as much as I have.'

Isn't it great to have such wonderful provenance!

The heavy solid 18ct yellow gold case is a 'front loader'. This means that a special tool is required to remove the lens, dial and movement from the front of the case, with the split-pin stem removed. I do not have this tool but can assure you that the watch is correct and all-original. The case is in superb, near-mint gleaming condition and is exceptional quality. It measures 34.5mm wide, excluding the original signed winding crown x 11mm thick x 38mm long, including the beautiful solid gold lugs. The inside case is signed Omega and carries Swiss 18ct hallmarks. The outside back is signed 'Waterproof', '166033' and 'Tool 106' and does not carry a personal inscription.

The original, unrestored golden dial is just beautiful. It is textured and features applied gold hour markers and Omega emblem. It is in mint clean condition and is signed 'Omega', 'Automatic', 'DeVille' and 'Swiss Made'. The original gold hands, including centre seconds hand, are in excellent, unbent condition. The lens is extremely clear as is the original Omega signed lens. If you use a magnifying glass you will see a tiny Omega symbol in the centre of the lens.

The automatic Omega movement is original and correctly signed. It is in excellent working order, with no issues and with the date function working correctly.

I have put this lovely watch on a new Hirsch leather strap, attached to which is an Omega gold-plated buckle. The watch comes complete with a new, non-Omega watch case.

A rare, exceptional watch from one of history's most famous names; full of charm and elegance. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a beautiful possession to enjoy.

You can feel confident buying from me - I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy with your purchase.
