This is a simply beautiful gents watch by IWC Schaffhausen, who need no introduction. The watch dates from between 1955-1960 and is in excellent, clean all-original condition with no minor wear. It features a stunning clean dial, a solid steel case, high-grade IWC 17 jewel hand-movement [Cal 89], centre-seconds hand and original unsigned crown. The watch comes complete with a quality Hirsch strap and a new quality watch box.

The solid steel case is in excellent, clean condition and measures 35mm wide, excluding the original unsigned crown x 42mm long including the lugs. The back closes tightly and the inside is signed 'International Watch Company', 'IWC', 'Probus Scafusia', 'Staybrite steel' and reference number '1352340'.

The original, restored dial is in mint clean condition with applied hour batons. The dial is signed 'International Watch Co', 'Schaffhausen' and 'Swiss'. The original hands, including centre-seconds hand, are in excellent unbent condition and the lens, which may or may not be original, is very clear.

The hand-wound 17 jewel movement [Cal 89] is in very good working order and features Geneva striping and gold jewel chatons. It is signed 'International Watch Co', 'Swiss', 'C89' and the movement reference number '1345199'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in excellent working order.

This beautiful watch comes complete with a quality Hirsch leather strap. The watch will be posted in a new quality watch box, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
