This is a beautiful gents' watch by IWC Schaffhausen, who need no introduction. The watch dates from 1956 and is in very good condition, with minor wear on the case. We can have a master jeweller polish the case to near perfection if the buyer wishes, which will take around one week. The watch will need to be paid for first. It features a stunning original, unrestored dial, a solid 18ct gold case with fancy curved lugs, high-grade IWC 17 jewel hand-movement, centre-seconds hand and original unsigned crown. The watch comes complete with a new, quality strap and a new quality watch box.

The solid 18ct gold case is in good, clean condition with a little wear. As mentioned, we can have it polished to the taste of the buyer. It measures 32mm wide, excluding the original unsigned crown x 35mm long including the curved lugs. The back closes tightly and the inside is signed 'IWC', 'Probus Scafusia', 'Modelle Depose', reference number '1369571' and carries the appropriate Swiss hallmarks for solid 18ct gold plus London import hallmarks for 18ct gold, dating to 1956.

The original, unrestored dial is in excellent clean condition and is signed 'International Watch Co', 'Schaffhausen' and 'Swiss'. The original hands, including centre-seconds hand, are in excellent unbent condition and the lens is very clear.

The hand-wound 17 jewel movement is in very good working order and features Geneva striping and gold jewel chatons. It is signed 'International Watch Co', 'Swiss' and the movement reference number '1346836'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is brighter than photographed.

This beautiful watch comes complete with a quality leather strap. The watch will be posted in a new quality watch box, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
