This is a rare and beautiful Heuer chronograph watch [Ed Heuer, pre Tag Heuer], dating from the 1940s and in simply excellent all-original condition, making the watch a highly collectable investment piece. It features a stainless steel case, original winding crown, a very clean original, unrestored dial with 'up and down' sub dials, and a signed quality 17 jewel movement. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order. The watch comes complete with a quality leather strap, and a new, quality presentation case. It will provide a strong financial investment.
You can feel confident buying from me - I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, fourteen days if overseas, in the same condition. I also provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation. I also welcome you to come and view the watch at our central London address, in the New Bond Street area. I offer my customers online prices - well below value - with offline availability and service.
The stainless steel case is in excellent, bright condition and measures 34mm, excluding the original winding crown and pushers x 42mm long, including the lugs. The back closes correctly and the inside back is signed 'Fond Acier Inoxydable', 'Ed. Heuer & Co', 'Heuer' and the '54711' reference number.
The dial is simply beautiful and looking at it closely I believe it is original, with no restoration. It is in superb clean condition and is signed 'Heuer'. The original blued steel hands are in excellent unbent condition and the lens is very clear.
The original hand-wound 17 jewel movement is in very good, bright condition, and is signed 'Ed Heuer' with the Heuer emblem. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age with all functions working correctly. The flyback centre seconds hand returns crisply to the 12 position.
This lovely watch is on a quality leather strap, which suits it perfectly, and comes complete with a new, quality presentation case, for safekeeping.
A superb collection-standard vintage watch from one of watch history's most famous names. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
