This is a stunning Omega - one of the best we have ever offered for sale - dating from 1947 and in mint vintage condition, with very very minor wear - it really has been carefully looked after. The watch is very high quality in every respect and features a very heavy 34.5mm solid 18ct gold case, original large unsigned winding crown, mint clean dial and a clean, freshly serviced hand-wound Omega 15 jewel movement (Cal 265). It comes complete with a new Hirsch leather strap and a new, quality non-Omega presentation case. The watch makes a very impressive statement on the wrist, something a bit different with a history, and will only rise in value. The watch is even better in reality than photographed so we know someone is going to be very pleased to receive it.
The heavy solid 18ct yellow gold case is in superb gleaming condition and measures 34.5mm wide, excluding the original unsigned winding crown x 10.5mm thick x 42mm long, including the lugs. The inside back of the case is signed 'Omega Watch Co', 'Fab Suisse Swiss Made', the '11048263' case reference number, '2390' and hallmarks for Swiss 18ct gold. The case does not carry a personal inscription.
The professionally restored dial is in mint condition and features applied gold hour markers and Omega insignia. It is signed 'Omega' and 'Swiss Made'. The original hands are in excellent unbent condition and the lens is very clear.
The hand-wound Omega 15 jewel movement (Cal 265) is in excellent, clean condition and is signed 'Omega', '15 Jewels', 'Swiss' and '265'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order, with no issues.
We have put this lovely watch on a new Hirsch leather strap, which suits it perfectly. The watch comes complete with a new non-Omega watch case.
A rare, highly collectible vintage watch from a top maker; full of meaning and history. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
