This is a simply stunning, extremely rare gents medical single button chronograph from my private collection - I will be sorry to see it go. Dating from around 1920 the watch features the famous Landeron Hahn 17 jewel chronograph movement and is in excellent condition for its age. It also features a large 38mm solid 18ct gold hinged case, flyback centre-seconds hand and a beautiful medical dial. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order. The watch comes on a quality leather strap and comes complete with a new, quality presentation case. Please note that this is an original wristwatch, not a pocket watch conversion.
You can feel confident buying from me - I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, fourteen days if overseas, in the same condition. I also provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation. I also welcome you to come and view the watch at our central London address, in the New Bond Street area. I offer my customers online prices - well below value - with offline availability and service.
The solid 18ct gold hinged case is huge for a watch from this era. It is in very good gleaming condition for a gold watch of this age, with the kind of minor wear you would expect, including a slightly rippled back case. It measures 38mm, excluding the original winding crown x 41mm long, including the solid gold fixed bar lugs. The inner lug width is 20mm and the pusher is also original. The back closes tightly with the hinge in good order and the inside back is signed with the '174024 20' case reference number and carries Swiss hallmarks for solid 18ct gold.
The beautiful medical dial is in mint clean condition and is signed 'Base 30 pulsations' and 'Swiss made'. The original blued steel hands, including flyback centre-seconds hand, are in excellent unbent condition, and the lens is very clear.
The original 17 Landeron Hahn Swiss movement is in very good clean condition. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age. All functions work correctly, with the centre-seconds hand snapping crisply back to the 12 position.
This lovely watch is on a new, quality leather strap and comes complete with a new, quality presentation case, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
A superb collection-standard vintage watch; full of charm and elegance. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
