Enquire about this product

This is a stunning Breitling 'Long playing' chronograph (Ref 815/Serial 1 415 527), dating from the 1960s and in excellent, clean condition for a watch of this age. The watch features a 38mm steel case, original signed winding crown and a clean, freshly serviced hand-wound Breitling Valjoux (Cal 7736) 17 jewel movement. It comes complete with a new perforated leather sports strap and a new, quality non-Breitling presentation case. The watch makes a very impressive statement on the wrist, something a bit different with a history, and will only rise in value. The watch is even better in reality than photographed so we know someone is going to be very pleased to receive it.

The large solid steel case is in excellent bright condition, with minor wear on the back, and measures 38mm wide, excluding the original pushers and original signed winding crown x 9.5mm thick x 47mm long, including the lugs. The inside back of the case is signed 'Breitling Watch Ltd' and 'Swiss'. The outside back of the case is signed 'Breitling' '815', '1 415 527', 'Stainless Steel - Swiss Made - Water Resistant - Shock Resistant - Antimagnetic'. The case does not carry a personal inscription.

The original, unrestored dial is in near mint condition, with no significant wear, and is signed 'Breitling Geneve' and 'Swiss Made'. The original hands are in excellent unbent condition and the original lens is very clear.

The hand-wound Breitling/Valoux 17 jewel movement (Cal 7736) is in excellent, clean, crisp condition - it is clear from the condition that the movement has rarely been worked on and very carefully. The movement is further protected by a dust cover and is signed 'Breitling Watch Ltd', 'Seventeen 17 Jewels', 'Unadjusted', 'Swiss', '7736', 'R' and 'TJ'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order, with no issues. All functions work correctly.

We have put this lovely watch on a new perforated leather sports strap, which suits it perfectly. The watch comes complete with a new non-Breitling watch case.

A rare, highly collectible vintage watch from a top maker; full of meaning and history. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
