This is a very rare watch - a Universal Geneve triple calendar moonphase gents watch in all-original condition - a collector's dream. Dating from the 1950s, this beautiful watch is in very good unrestored condition, with even patina to the dial. It features a steel case, original winding crown, original unrestored dial, original hands and a clean, freshly serviced hand-wound Universal movement (Cal 291). It comes complete with a new quality Hirsch leather strap and a new presentation box. It really does make a very impressive statement on the wrist, something different with a history, and will only rise in value.
We offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy with your purchase. We also provide a full receipt, six months guarantee (long enough for you to assess the working order) and a professional insurance valuation (We are approved to provide insurance valuations for wrist and pocket watches). We also welcome you to come and view the watch at our central London address - by appointment only. We offer our customers online prices - below value - with offline availability and service.
The solid steel case is in excellent gleaming condition, with no significant wear. It measures 33mm wide, excluding the original winding crown x 10mm thick x 40mm long, including the lugs. The inside back of the case is signed ‘Universal Geneve’, ‘Enversteel’ and Swiss’. The outside back of the case carries the ‘12508870’ & ‘21308’ reference numbers.
The original, unrestored dial has an even patina and is signed ‘Universal Geneve’ and ‘Swiss’. The original hands are in excellent, unbent condition, and the lens is very clear.
The hand-wound Universal Geneve movement (Cal 291) is in very good clean condition and is signed ‘Universal Geneve’ and ‘291’. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age, with no issues and with all functions working correctly.
This lovely watch is on a quality Hirsch leather strap and comes complete with a new watch box for safekeeping.
A rare, highly collectible watch from one of history’s most respected watchmakers. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
