Please note that the watch did not photograph well. In reality it is in near mint, gleaming, crisp condition.
This is a rare, high quality Rolex gents Art Deco vintage watch Stephen Baring is releasing from his private collection. If you collect Rolex you should seriously consider it as you are unlikely to see another in this superb condition. Dating from 1937, this stunning watch is all original parts and features a gleaming solid 9ct gold tonneau stepped case, original unsigned crown, a beautifully clean Rolex dial and a clean hand-wound Rolex Prima 15 jewel movement. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker. The watch comes complete with a new leather strap and a new, quality presentation case. Please check case dimensions below before buying as the watch is small by todays much larger standards. The watch will provide an excellent financial investment as it will only rise further in value.
The solid 9ct gold tonneau stepped case is high quality and in excellent, bright gleaming condition, with no significant wear. It measures 22mm wide, excluding the original unsigned winding crown x 33mm long, from lug to lug. The fixed bar lugs are also solid 9ct gold. The inside back is signed ‘Rolex 25 world records’, ‘RWCLtd (for Rolex Watch Company)', ‘Geneva/Suisse’ and carries Glasgow import hallmarks for 9ct gold, dating to 1937. The outside back of the case carries the Rolex coronet emblem and the ‘33116 2387’ case reference numbers.
The beautiful Art Deco cream dial is in extremely clean condition, with no significant wear and features applied numbers. It is signed 'Rolex’ and ‘Swiss made’. The original blued steel hands are in very excellent, unbent condition, and the lens is very clear, with no visible wear.
The hand-wound Rolex 15 jewel movement is in very good condition and is high quality, as you would expect. It is signed ‘Rolex’, ‘15 Rubies’ and ‘Swiss Made Fab Suisse’. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in excellent working order for a watch of this age.
We have put this beautiful watch on a new leather strap and the watch comes complete with a new, quality non-Rolex watch box.
An excellent, rare watch from one of history's most famous names; full of charm and elegance. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
