This is a fine example of vintage Rolex Submariner gents watch [Model 5513/Serial 1198006], dating from 1965 and in all-original untouched condition. The watch can be polished to personal taste. It really is a beautiful example of this famous model and is of course authentic. The watch comes complete with its original Rolex box, a Watches of Switzerland service paper c1989 and two spare bracelet links. Will provide an excellent financial investment.
The steel case is in original, unpolished condition and can be polished to personal taste. The bezel insert is in very good condition. It measures 42mm wide, excluding the original signed Rolex crown [signed with the famous Rolex coronet emblem] x 17mm thick x 47mm long, including the lugs. The case back screws correctly closed and the inside is signed 'Montres Rolex S.A. Geneva Switzerland', 'Stainless Steel' and the model line reference number '5512'. The case also carries the '5513' model and '1198006' serial numbers between the lugs. You may wonder why the inside case is marked 5512 on a 5513 watch. Simply put, in my experience 5513 Submariners often have 5512 outside back cases. This is because Rolex used up remaining 5512 parts on some 5513 models. This is not at all unusual.
The lovely original, unrestored dial is in very clean condition and is signed 'Rolex Oyster Perpetual', '200m = 660ft Submariner' and 'Swiss'. The original Mercedes hands are also in very good condition and the lens is also original. The lens has scratches that can be polished out if the new owner wishes.
The high-grade Rolex automatic movement [Cal 1530] is excellent quality, as you would expect. It is signed 'Rolex Geneva Swiss', '26 Fine Rubies' and '1530'. The movement is in very good condition and is in excellent working order.
The original Rolex steel bracelet is in good tight condition for its age and can again be polished to personal taste. It is signed 'Rolex', 'Registered Swiss Made' and 'Steelinox 93150'. The watch comes complete with its original Rolex watch box.
A simply superb watch from one of history's most famous names; collection standard. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
