This is a fine example of an early Omega gents watch, dating from pre 1920 and in very good condition for a watch of this age. The watch features a solid silver hinged case, very clean dial, original onion winding crown and original Omega hand-wound movement (signed under the dial). The watch will be supplied on a new Hirsch leather strap and in a new, quality watch box. A highly collectible early watch and a very good financial investment.
The solid silver hinged case is in very good condition and can be polished to taste - We do not highly polish cases as collectors prefer them 'as is'. It measures 31.4mm wide, excluding the original winding crown x 34.2mm long, including the solid silver fixed bar lugs. The outside back case and inner silver dust cover both open on a hinge and the hinge is in good order. The inside back is signed 'Dennison Watch Case Co Ltd' (Dennison were the famous case makers who made English market cases for most of the top Swiss watchmakers, Rolex included. A quick Google search will verify this), the '564860' case reference number, 'D' and carries a full set of English hallmarks for solid silver.
The dial is in excellent clean condition and features the sought-after red 12. It is signed 'Omega'. The original blued steel hands are in excellent, unbent condition and the lens is very clear.
The original hand-wound Omega movement is signed 'Omega' under the dial, on the other side of the movement, and features screwed in jewel chatons. It is in very good condition and carries the '3007101' movement reference number. It has just been oiled by our watchmaker and is in very good working order for a watch of this age.
We will add a new Hirsch leather strap to the watch and will post it in a new, quality presentation case for safekeeping.
A rare, valuable watch from one of history's most famous names; will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
