This is an exceptional find. A beautiful 'new old stock' Omega Seamaster Chronometer day date - c1969 - with a very heavy solid 18ct gold case (the head of the watch weighs 50gms). Only 1,000 of these watches were created in total, spread between white, pink and yellow gold, making it one of the most rare Omega watches in existence. And it really is very rare to find a high-grade NOS vintage Omega - the watch really is very high quality in every respect. The watch is in virtual mint original factory condition, apart from incredibly minor storage wear, and is factory sealed, as the watch has never been opened. New old stock means a watch that has been stored through time - never sold or worn. Many NOS watches have storage wear but this one really is mint; as though made yesterday.
The watch features a very heavy, and we mean very heavy, solid 18ct yellow gold screwback case, original signed crown, mint clean 18ct gold dial with 18ct gold hands and hour markers, original completely clear Omega signed lens, day/date windows (day in French) and a clean, automatic chronometer Omega 24 jewel movement (Cal 751). It comes complete with a new genuine Omega crocodile strap, attached to which is a new genuine Omega gold-plated buckle. These add significantly to the value of the watch and a new, quality non-Omega presentation case. Please let us know if you require any further photos.
The very heavy solid 18ct gold case (the head of the watch weighs 50g) is in mint factory condition, as though made yesterday, and measures 36mm wide, excluding the original signed winding crown x 12mm thick x 42mm long, including the solid 18ct gold lugs. The lug width is 19mm. The case back has never been opened - factory sealed. We guarantee that the inside case carries all the correct signage and Swiss hallmarks. The underside of two of the lugs are hallmarked.
The beautiful gold dial is in mint condition and features applied 18ct gold hour markers and Omega emblem. It is signed 'Omega', 'Automatic Chronometer Officially Certified', 'Seamaster' and 'Swiss Made'. The original 18ct gold hands, including smooth sweeping centre seconds hand, are in mint condition, as is the original signed Omega lens.
The automatic Omega chronometer 24 jewel movement (Cal 751) has never been worked on since the day it was created. It is guaranteed to be correctly signed and is in excellent working order.
We have put this lovely watch on a new genuine crocodile Omega strap, attached to which is a new genuine Omega gold-plated buckle. Both are in mint condition and add significantly to the value of the watch. The watch comes complete with a new, non-Omega watch case.
A rare, exceptional watch from one of watch history's most famous names; top collection standard. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
