This is a simply superb, exceptionally rare watch that we are releasing from our private collection - a Marvin chronograph gents' watch, dating from the late 1930s and in simply excellent original condition for a watch of this age. It features a large solid 14ct gold hinged case, fixed bar lugs, a very clean original golden dial and a clean hand-wound movement. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age. The watch comes on a new Hirsch strap and comes complete with a new presentation case.
The solid 14ct gold hinged double backed case is in excellent gleaming condition and measures 35.6mm wide, excluding the original winding crown x 38mm long, including the solid gold fixed bar lugs (19mm). The hinge is not strong so it has to be opened with care. The inside case is signed with the '737503' reference number and carries the appropriate hallmarks for Swiss solid 14ct gold. The movement dust cover is gold plated.
The watch has its original golden dial, which is in very clean condition for its age and is signed 'Marvin'. The original steel hands, including flyback centre-seconds hand, are in excellent unbent condition, and the lens is very clear.
The original hand-wound Marvin movement is in excellent clean condition. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age, with all functions working correctly.
This lovely watch is on a new Hirsch leather strap and comes complete with a new, quality presentation case.
A superb collection-standard vintage chronograph watch; full of charm and history. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
