Rolex Oyster Junior Sport steel gents watch - c1943

This is a rare, high quality Rolex gents Art Deco vintage watch Stephen Baring is releasing from his private collection. Dating from 1943, the watch is in very good all-original condition. The watch features a steel Oyster case, original signed winding crown, clean original dial, centre seconds hand and a clean, freshly serviced hand-wound Rolex 15 jewel movement (signed Rolex on the other side of the movement, under the dial). It comes complete with a quality vintage pig skin leather strap and a new, quality non-Rolex presentation case. The steel Oyster screwback case is in very good condition and measures 30mm wide, excluding the original signed screwdown Oyster winding crown x 11mm thick x 39mm long, including lugs. The case back screws tightly closed and the outside is signed with the '253930' serial number, which dates the watch to 1943. The inside is signed 'RWC Ltd' (for Rolex Watch Co), 'Oyster Watch Co', 'Geneva Swiss', 'Patented In All Countries' and the model reference '3136'. The outside case is free from any personal inscription.

The beautiful original, unrestored dial is in very clean condition for its age and is signed 'Oyster Junior Sport' and 'Swiss Made'. The original hands, including centre seconds hand, are in very good, unbent condition, and the lens is very clear.

The hand-wound Rolex 15 jewel movement is in very good, clean condition and is signed Rolex on the other side of the movement, under the dial, '15 Rubies' and 'Swiss made'. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in excellent working order.

We have put this lovely watch on a quality vintage pig skin leather strap, which suits it perfectly. The watch comes complete with a new, non-Rolex watch case.
