Cartier solid 18ct gold gents vintage dress watch c1960s

This is a beautiful Cartier gents vintage dress watch, in very good original condition. Dating from the 1960’s, the watch is extremely rare and will provide an excellent financial investment - you will find it very difficult to find another of these watches in this condition. Cartier has made modern watches in a similar style but this is the vintage original. The watch features a solid 18ct gold case, an original enamel dial and a clean, freshly serviced high grade Cartier 17 jewel movement. It also comes complete with its original Cartier gold-plated buckle, a new quality Hirsch strap and a new genuine Cartier watch pouch. The watch looks nicer in reality with the minor wear visible in the highly magnified photos virtually invisible to the naked eye. The solid 18ct gold case is in excellent gleaming condition, with no significant wear. The case measures 30.5mm wide, excluding the original sapphire cabochon winding crown x 34mm long, including the lugs. The outside back of the case is signed ‘Cartier’ ‘Paris’ with the case reference no ‘107130642’. The inside back is signed 'Swiss' and carries the appropriate Swiss hallmarks for solid 18ct gold.

The beautiful Cartier enamel dial is original, with no restoration. It is in very bright condition, with hardly any eye-visible wear. The magnified photos have captured tiny little hairlines that are not noticeable to the naked eye. In other words, the watch looks far better in reality. The dial is signed ‘Cartier’ and ‘Paris’. The original blued steel hands are in excellent, unbent condition and the original lens is very clear.

The hand wound high grade 17 jewel Cartier movement is centre jewelled - a mark of quality. It is signed ‘Cartier’, ‘17 Rubis’ and ‘107’. The movement has recently been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in excellent working order for its age.
