Breitling Top Time 18ct gold chronograph watch - c1965

This is a rare Breitling Top Time solid 18ct gold chronograph watch, dating from 1965 and in very good all-original, unrestored condition. The watch is 'front loading' and features a 36mm solid 18ct gold case, original signed winding crown and a clean, freshly serviced Breitling Venus 17 jewel hand-wound movement. It comes complete with a new Hirsch leather strap and a new, quality non-Breitling presentation case. The watch makes a very impressive statement on the wrist, something a bit different with a history, and will only rise in value. The camera has not photographed parts of the watch well, making it look as though there is wear when in reality there isn’t, so you can expect the watch to look more beautiful 'in the flesh'.

The solid 18ct yellow gold case is in very good gleaming condition, with very minor wear, and is 36mm wide excluding the original signed winding crown and original pushers x 11mm thick x 43mm long including the solid gold lugs. The back of the case is signed 'Breitling', 'Waterproof', 'Antimagnetic', 'Shockprotected', 'Swiss', 'HG Ltd', '2004' (the casemakers) and carries both Swiss 18ct hallmarks and London import hallmarks, dating to 1965.

The original, unrestored dial is in very clean condition, with very minor wear. It is signed 'Breitling Geneve', 'Top Time' and 'Swiss Made'. The original hands are in very good unbent condition and the lens is perfectly clear.

The Breitling Venus 17-jewel hand-wound movement is fully signed Breitling and can only be accessed by lifting the lens, dial and movement out of the front of the case, which includes dismantling the winding stem, something that can only be done by a watchmaker. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order, with no issues and all functions working correctly.

We have put this lovely watch on a new Hirsch leather strap, which suits it perfectly. The watch comes complete with a new non-Breitling watch case.
