Breitling Navitimer chronograph watch - c1969

This is a rare and beautiful example of the iconic Breitling Navitimer watch, dating from 1969 and in excellent all-original condition, making the watch a highly collectible investment piece. It features a large stainless steel case, original signed winding crown, original pushers, a very clean original, unrestored dial, and an original signed 17 jewel Breitling Venus movement (Cal 178). The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order. The watch comes complete with a later genuine Breitling leather strap and steel Breitling buckle, and a new, quality presentation case. It will provide a strong financial investment.

The stainless steel case is in excellent, bright condition and measures 41mm, excluding the original signed winding crown and pushers x 14mm thick x 48mm long, including the lugs. The back closes correctly and the inside back is signed 'Breitling Watch Ltd' and 'Swiss'. The outside back is signed 'Breitling', 'Stainless steel', the '806' reference number and the '306504' case reference number.

The original, unrestored black dial is simply beautiful and in very clean condition for its age, with the minor wear you would expect. It is signed 'Breitling', 'Geneve', 'Navitimer' and 'Swiss made'. The original blued steel hands are in excellent unbent condition and the original lens is very clear.

The original hand-wound 17 jewel Breitling/Venus movement (Cal 178) is in excellent, clean condition, and is signed 'Breitling Watch Ltd', 'Swiss', 'Unadjusted', 'Seventeen 17 Jewels' and '178 TJ'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order, with all functions working correctly. The flyback centre seconds hand returns crisply to the 12 position.

This lovely watch is on a later genuine Breitling leather strap, which is gently used, attached to which is a later genuine Breitling steel buckle. The watch comes complete with a new, quality presentation case, for safekeeping.
