Fine oil painting - possible Whistler - 19th Century

This is an oil painting on canvas of an elderly lady knitting by the fire. It dates from the 19th Century and the style and colour tones are reminiscent of Whistler. The painting is unsigned but could possibly be by Whistler. This would take time to ascertain so we are selling as is and make no claim that it is definitely by Whistler.
The painting is stretched on a wooden frame. It has no damage but is dirty and needs a clean to bring out its full beauty. It is a mature work of fine quality.
