Mayan wooden carving - 19th Century

This is an absolutely magnificent large Mayan hand carved wooden bust, dating from the 19th Century and in excellent condition for its age. The Mayan were an ancient Central American civilisation whose customs have continued to the modern era. There is minor wear to the headdress at the back (photographed) but this is not visible from the front. A beautifully carved and highly collectible piece of Mayan art. A central London gallery would ask in the thousands of pounds for this, which makes our price very reasonable.
