This is another simply beautiful gents Dunhill vintage watch from my private collection. The photos are dark and moody so you can expect the watch to be brighter in reality. Dating from 1930, during the Art Deco era, the watch is in excellent condition for its age and features a gleaming, heavy solid silver case, gorgeous dial and high quality Swiss movement. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in excellent working order. The watch comes complete with a leather strap and a new watch box.
My asking price is below the value of the watch, given the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this quality. Such is the high quality of the watch, I will include a six month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, twelve days if overseas, in the same condition.
The heavy solid silver cushion case is larger than many cushion cases from this early era. It in very good, bright condition, with the kind of minor wear you would expect, including a bit of wear at the point where the case has been opened over the years. It can of course be polished even further to taste. The case measures 31mm wide, excluding the original winding crown x 33mm long, including the silver fixed bar lugs. The back of the case closes very tightly shut and the inside carries London import hallmarks for solid silver, dating to 1930. It is also signed ‘GS’ [the casemakers] and ‘15’, the case reference number.
The beautiful Art Deco dial is in perfect clean condition and features lovely large green numbers. It is signed ‘Dunhill’. The original skeleton cathedral hands are in excellent unbent condition, and the lens is clear.
The original high-grade hand-wound 15 jewel movement is in excellent bright, clean condition - brighter than photographed. It was Swiss made for Dunhill and is signed 'Swiss made', ‘Pioneer’, '15 Jewels' and ‘3 Adjsts’. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age.
As mentioned, this lovely watch is on a new quality black leather strap, which suits it perfectly. The watch comes complete with a watch box, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
A superb collection-standard vintage watch from one history's most famous names; full of charm and history. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
