Description
This is a simply beautiful Rolex ladies Art Deco watch, dating from 1935 and in excellent condition for its age - better and brighter than photographed. The ‘swinging’ lugs are classic Art Deco and an incredibly rare design, making the watch a highly collectable investment piece. The watch comes from my private collection and is in excellent condition for its age. It features a gorgeous solid 9ct gold case with those solid 9ct gold swinging lugs, original signed Rolex winding crown, a very clean original Art Deco dial and a quality Rolex Ultra Prima movement. The Ultra Prima was Rolex highest quality movement of the era. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order. The watch comes complete with a vintage leather cocktail strap, and a new, quality presentation case. I sense it will make someone a very special Christmas present.
My asking price is below the value of the watch, given the continual rise in value of Rolex vintage watches of this quality and rarity. Such is the high quality of the watch, I will include a six month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, fourteen days if overseas, in the same condition. Please feel free to view the watch in central London.
The solid 9ct gold case is in excellent, gleaming condition and measures 20mm, excluding the original signed winding crown [signed with the famous Rolex coronet emblem] x 47mm long, including those long solid gold swinging lugs. Both lugs are hallmarked. The back closes correctly and the inside back is signed ‘Rolex’, ‘RWCLtd’, ‘25 world’s records’, ‘Geneva Suisse’ and carries British hallmarks for solid 9ct gold, dating to 1935. This shows that the watch was made for the British market. The outside back carries the ‘18619 2609’ reference numbers.
The Art Deco dial is really beautiful and is in very clean condition. The dial is signed ‘Rolex’. The original blued steel hands are in excellent unbent condition [the camera has made them look brighter blue than they are in reality], and the lens is very clear.
The original hand-wound Rolex movement is in very good, bright condition for its age, and is signed 'Rolex’, ‘Ultra Prima’, ‘Timed 6 positions’, 17 Rubies’, ‘Hairspring’ and ‘Swiss’. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order for its age.
This lovely watch is on a brown vintage cocktail strap which suits it perfectly. The watch comes complete with a new, quality presentation case, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
A superb collection-standard vintage watch from one of history's most famous names; full of charm and elegance. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
