This is a simply beautiful gents Dunhill vintage watch from my private collection. The photos are dark and moody so you can expect the watch to be far brighter, more crisp and generally more impressive in reality. Dating from 1930, during the Art Deco era, the watch is in excellent original condition and features a gleaming, heavy solid silver case, gorgeous original dial and high quality Swiss movement. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in excellent working order. The watch comes complete with a leather strap and a new watch box.
My asking price is below the value of the watch, given the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this quality. Such is the high quality of the watch, I will include a six month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full no quibble refund if you are not entirely happy with the purchase.
The heavy solid silver three-piece cushion case is in very good, bright condition, with the kind of minor wear you would expect. It can of course be polished further to taste. The case measures 30mm wide, excluding the original winding crown x 31mm long, including the silver fixed bar lugs. The back of the case snaps tightly shut and the inside carries London import hallmarks for solid silver, dating to 1930. It is also signed ‘GS’ [the casemakers] and ‘1120’, the case reference number.
The beautiful original, unrestored Art Deco dial is in very clean condition for a watch of this age - much brighter and better in reality than photographed. The dial features lovely large green numbers and is signed ‘Dunhill’ and ‘Swiss Made’. The original cathedral hands are in excellent unbent condition, with all of the luminous intact, and the glass lens, which may or may not be original, is near-mint.
The original high-grade hand-wound 15 jewel movement is in excellent bright, clean condition and is signed 'Swiss made' and '15 Jewels'. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in excellent working order.
As mentioned, this lovely watch is on a black leather strap, which is extra long. The watch comes complete with a watch box, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
A superb collection-standard vintage watch from one of history's most famous names; full of charm and history. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
