Description
This is a simply beautiful Rolex ladies Art Deco vintage watch, dating from 1924 and in simply superb all-original condition for its age, with no significant wear. It is clear that it has rarely been worn in its lifetime. The watch is heavy in the hand - feels quality. The photos have come out ‘grey’ so you can expect it to be brighter and more gleaming white gold in reality. The watch features a heavy, high quality solid 18ct white gold case, set with 12 glittery diamonds, a very clean original dial and a high-grade Rolex Extra Prima hand-wound movement. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order. The watch comes on a period ribbon strap with clasp and comes complete with a new, quality presentation case for wrapping as the perfect gift.
My asking price is below the value of the watch, given the continual rise in value of Rolex vintage watches of this quality and rarity. Such is the high quality of the watch, I will include a six month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days if UK customer, twelve days if overseas, in the same condition. Contact me if you would like to view the watch in central London.
The solid 18ct white gold hinged case is in excellent near-mint gleaming condition - amazing for its age - and is set with 12 glittery genuine diamonds. The sides are beautifully decorated and the case measures 15mm, excluding the original unsigned winding crown x 29mm long, including the solid gold fixed bar lugs. The back closes tightly and the outside back is signed with the ‘105 8379’ reference numbers. The inside case is signed ‘Rolex’, ‘7 world’s records’, ‘Geneva Suisse’, ‘RWCLtd’ and carries the British import hallmarks for solid 18ct gold, dating to 1924.
The original Art Deco dial is original with no restoration and is in very clean condition for a watch of this age. It is very rare to find an unrestored dial from this era in clean condition. The dial features lovely classic Art Deco numbers and is signed ‘Rolex’ and ‘Swiss made’. The original blued steel hands are a lovely design and are in excellent unbent condition, and the original lens is very clear.
The original hand-wound 15 jewel Rolex movement is in mint clean condition, and is signed 'Rolex’ 'Extra Prima’, ‘15 Jewels' and ‘Swiss made’. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in very good working order.
This lovely watch is on a period ribbon strap, with steel clasp. The strap is in very good condition and is adjustable to fit all normal wrist sizes. The watch comes complete with a new, quality presentation case, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
A superb collection-standard vintage watch from one of history's most famous names; full of charm and elegance. Will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy.
