Rolex gents steel vintage watch - c1938

This is a beautiful, rare Rolex gents vintage watch [Ref 3892], dating from 1938, and in excellent condition - brighter and cleaner than photographed. Please note that in one of the photos it looks as though the bottom half of the dial is faded - this is light reflection; the dial is perfect and crisp. All parts of the watch are original to each other and the watch features a gleaming steel case, excellent, crisp hand wound Rolex 15 jewel movement and a beautiful mint dial. The watch was made as a gents watch but is small by today's standards, so will suit either a gent who prefers a smaller watch or a lady who prefers a larger one - please check the case measurements below. The watch comes complete with a new leather strap and a new, quality presentation case.

My asking price is very fair, given the continual rise in value of vintage Rolex watches of this quality and condition. Such is the high quality of the watch, I will include a six month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the running order. The steel case is in excellent, bright gleaming condition, with no significant wear - brighter than photographed. It measures 29mm wide, excluding the original unsigned winding crown x 31.5mm long, including the lugs. The case back closes perfectly and firmly and the edges of the top and bottom are in good condition, showing that the case has always been opened with care. The inside is correctly signed ‘Rolex', ‘Geneve Suisse’ and the ‘3892’ reference number. The outside back of the case is signed with the famous Rolex coronet emblem.

The beautiful dial is in perfectly clean condition, with no wear and is signed 'Rolex’ and ‘Swiss made’. The original steel hands are in very good, unbent condition, and the lens is very clear.

The hand wound Rolex 15 jewel movement is in lovely condition. It is excellent quality, as you would expect, and is signed ‘Rolex’, ‘15 Rubies’, ‘Patented superbalance’ and ‘Swiss made Fab Suisse’. The movement has just been serviced by a master watchmaker and is in very good working order.

I have put the watch is on a new leather strap, which suits it perfectly. The watch comes complete with a new, high quality watch case.
